CHI services

Devoted to strengthening communities, eliminating poverty, and providing assistance to those in need, CHI is proud to launch its first permanent facility in the Caribbean. CHI will not only provide housing for orphaned children, but will ultimately provide a facility that also functions as a community center able to support 250 to 300 children on a daily basis. CHI will provide its full-time residents a place free from drugs, juvenile delinquency, and disease that can impair their development within the community. The Organization will provide moral, spiritual, and educational guidance to children, helping each find their way to living a happy and productive life. The following describes the Organization’s services in more detail.

Education

As the most important part of CHI’s mission, the Organization will provide onsite education for grades kindergarten through 12. CHI will employ professional teachers and instructors who will be afforded the necessary tools to successfully engage and motivate students. All teachers will enjoy a competitive salary, as well as ongoing professional education.

Medication

To ensure the health of all children, the facility will have an onsite clinic offering medical emergency assistance. The clinic will have a medical doctor or nurse on staff at all times, ensuring that necessary medical attention is accessible to all residents.

Crisis prevention

CHI will have a reliable crisis prevention center that can provide counseling, mentoring, and interventions for distressed children.

Onsite activity

In order to create well-rounded adults and encourage each child to reach his or her full potential, the Organization will offer activities and resources including sports, a library, tutoring services, culinary training, and technology.

Social interactions

Children residing with CaringHands International will learn how important it is to give back to their communities. The Organization will coordinate trips to different parts of the country including, but not limited to:

  • Citadel Laferiere
  • Hospitals and juvenile detention centers
  • Historical places on the Island
  • Community service and civic engagement via weekly garbage clean-up, partaking in community organizing, and assisting in local elections
  • Engaging children in intellectual conversations and religious activities of their choosing
